The UF/IFAS Nature Coast Biological Station’s Discovery Center will re-open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 16th from 10am-2pm during the Annual Cedar Key Seafood Festival. Visitors can explore our public education room and wet lab on the first floor of the facility in downtown Cedar Key (552 1st St). Meet some of our favorite local inhabitants like popular sportfish Red Drum and Snook, along with “Wilbur” the Suwannee River Alligator Snapping Turtle. Learn about shellfish aquaculture and natural resource conservation efforts by visiting with UF/IFAS students and staff who are currently working on various projects in the Nature Coast.
This facility will be open during business hours for guests, and periodically on weekends through the winter/spring tourist season.
